    Behind girl is Floyd & Clayta Harwell's house & barber shop. Note leaning concrete pillar, probably part of an old gasoline station on this corner, painted like a barber pole. This photo is taken in the front yard of the old Kirkland house, looking northeast at corner of Bethel & Coppell Roads.     This bridge could be either over Denton Creek or an early bridge on what is now Southwestern Blvd. (Pete Wilson, resident, 12/14/01) Denton Creek, Ruby McDowell.     Dobecka photo. (P. Wilson, resident, 11/18/02) I think this is a picture of Vickie (left) Dobecka and Polly Dobecka. This may be the old bridge on Sandy Lake at Carrollton Dam. Probably taken in late 1940's. Vickie Dobecka married Johnny Dobecka 1946. Polly Cerrvenka married Tony Dobecka 1947. Mary Cervenka married Cecil Dobecka in 1947. (Cecil Dobecka, resident, 11/18/14)

  20. 2-357 - Old wooden bridge over water.

    Since this is a wood bridge, it is probably over Denton Creek, north of Coppell. However, it could be over the Trinity, east of Coppell. (P. Wilson, resident, 9/13/06) Note: this is a steel through truss bridge with a wooden deck built from the 1870's to 1930's. Instead of using wide flange steel members, lattice beams were used to save weight and optimize the design. (Phil LaBerge, resident, 8/25/20)
