First cotton gin in Coppell, probably located on present Freeport Drive, west of downtown. Rumors say this building was destroyed by a tornado, and it was replaced with another gin in photo #759. A caption on this photo says, "Gin No. 1, 1885, located off of Bethel Rd. back of the C.P. Thomas place." P. Wilson, resident, 12/22/11)

1956. Mr. Elgie Parr and Floyd Harwell on the porch of Harwell's barbershop, corner of W. Bethel and S. Coppell Roads (SE corner). "February , 1974" Although it's named "First Coppell Bank," it wasn't. The first bank in Coppell was located downtown and went out of business even before the Depression. When this bank moved, it moved across Belt Liine and more south. At one time this bank was owned by Don Carter, Coppell resident, V.P of Home Interiors, and owner of the Mavericks Basketball team.
